It’s always great to help to promote your hometown, so we were delighted to be invited to write the website and business success stories for the Made in Hawick initiative.  

The Made in Hawick brand is a new quality label celebrating excellence in the town’s manufacturing sector. Hawick has a long manufacturing tradition of amazing products which are sold all over the world, and yet the town and its skills have often been under the radar. Until now! 

Hawick manufacturing – an inside secret no more 

Few people outside the Borders are aware that many couture fashions seen on the international catwalks are made in Hawick.  Or that engineering products made in Hawick can be found under the M8 motorway or in Switzerland’s Gotthard rail tunnel.   

That’s set to change under a town regeneration project that aims to put Hawick craftsmanship firmly on the map.  

So here are three business success stories from Hawick’s continuing tradition of entrepreneurship, innovation and export to the world.  

It was exceptionally inspiring to meet John Fordyce, Lesley Landels and Sam Cornwell and hear their stories.
