terms & conditions
Texthouse provides high-quality writing and editorial services, and we deal professionally with all our clients.
The following terms and conditions outline what you can expect when commissioning Texthouse services, and the standard undertakings for both parties. We will proceed on the understanding that you have read and agreed to the following:
Copyright: You own the copyright to all commissioned writing once Texthouse has received your final payment. You are free to reuse it for company purposes in different print and web formats. Texthouse has the right to use extracts of the published writing, including in-situ screenshots or images, to promote our services, unless we have previously signed a non-disclosure agreement. Please note that you are responsible for any image or text rights or consents needed for reproduction.
Confidentiality: We take customer confidentiality and data protection very seriously, and will not disclose any information or content that you supply except by mutual agreement, or unless required to do so by law.
Disclaimer: Texthouse makes every effort to provide an excellent service, and works with you to ensure there are no errors, omissions or misrepresentations in submitted material. However, responsibility for the final published material lies with you, the client, and you assume liability for any loss or damage you may incur as a result of publishing material we have supplied.
Charging: We usually charge a project fee agreed in advance, based on a written brief. This fee includes two drafts and two rounds of your feedback, followed by final copy. If your requirements or the project scope change, we reserve the right to amend the fee and charge for work already supplied. Any expenses such as travel and stock photography will be charged separately.
Payment: We normally require a 50% deposit before work starts. Payment is subject to VAT in the UK and must be made by BACS bank transfer or cheque within 30 days of the invoice date. We reserve the right to charge interest for late payment.
Contract: Texthouse will normally send you a contract for signature before work starts. If we are not working under a specific contract, the present terms and conditions apply.
Jurisdiction: This agreement is governed by the laws of Scotland.
